Ronny Ramlau

Ronny Ramlau (born July 23, 1966 in Annaberg-Buchholz ) is a German mathematician and professor at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz . He is the Vice Chairman of the Institute for Industrial Mathematics.

Life

Ramlau studied mathematics at the University of Potsdam , where he received his doctorate in 1997 . During his studies he worked as a research assistant (1994–1997). In 1998 Ramlau was visiting professor at the University of Salt Lake City, USA. From 1999 to 2005 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Bremen , Germany. From September to December 2003, Ramlau was visiting professor at the University of California , Los Angeles (UCLA), USA. In 2003 he completed his habilitation at the University of Bremen, Germany. Between 2005 and 2008 Ronny Ramlau was Senior Scientist in the group "Inverse Problems" at the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM). Since September 2008 he has been Professor of Industrial Mathematics at the JKU Linz and at the same time also Vice Chairman of the Institute for Industrial Mathematics. Since 2010 he has been the editor of Electronic Transactions on Numerical Analysis .
