Rooga is an Austrian rock band from Vienna that was founded in early 2006.
history
The band won the Local Heroes Band Contest in 2006 and the Austrian Band Contest the following year .
In 2008 the band released their debut album Leaving the Scene with the single Oryx , for which a music video was also shot. In the following years Rooga played a number of concerts at home and abroad, u. a. at Sziget , in the Gasometer and at the Danube Island Festival . They performed together with TM Stevens , Living Color , Soulfly and Dog Eat Dog .
In 2009 Jägermeister made the Viennese band one of the ten hunter bands in Austria. At the end of October 2010, the second album Behind the Mirror was released , the first single is Face to Face with the accompanying video. As part of the release, the band also created a one-hour Hosted By show on Gotv . In April 2011 the second single Take me away including video was released and in June 2011 the band played for the first time at Austria's largest rock festival Novarock on the “Abschalten Jetzt stage”.
