Roquetes is a Catalan city ​​in the province of Tarragona in northeastern Spain . It is in the comarca of Baix Ebre .

location

Roquetes is located about 70 kilometers southwest of Tarragona on the lower reaches of the Ebro .

history

A Moorish manor is considered the origin of the place . After the reconquest , Roquetes initially belonged to Tortosa . It only became independent in 1850.

During the Spanish War of Independence against Napoleon from 1807 to 1814, Roquetes served as the headquarters of the French troops for the attack on Tortosa. In the First Carlist War it was occupied 1,833th
