Rosario Bonaccorso

Rosario Bonaccorso (* 1957 in Sicily ) is an Italian jazz bassist and composer.

Bonaccorso played in Enrico Rava's Electric Five in 1996 and in 1997 he recorded in London with Steve Grossman and in 1998 the album Volare (with Flavio Boltro ) in Stefano Di Battista's quintet . In 1998 he played with Benny Golson and James Moody , then in the Jon Faddis quintet . In 2002 he performed with Gato Barbieri and Enrico Rava at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival . In the mid-2000s he was part of the Rava quintet, with whom he accompanied Pat Metheny at Ravenna Jazz in 2003 . With Rava, Danilo Rea , Flavio Boltro and Roberto Gatto he formed the quintet Un incontro in Jazz (album Milestones on Blue Note Records 2008, Un incontro in Jazz , Parco della Musica 2011).

Bonaccorso also played with Michael Brecker , Lee Konitz , Slide Hampton , Clark Terry , Cedar Walton , Dianne Reeves , Elvin Jones , Aldo Romano , Jimmy Cobb and others.

He plays with his own quintet with pianist Andrea Pozza . In 2007 he recorded Visions (Abeat) in a trio with drummer Fabrizio Sferra and guitarist Bebo Ferra .
