The Roseau River is a right tributary of the Red River of the North in the northwest of the US state Minnesota and in the extreme south of the Canadian province of Manitoba .
The Roseau River rises about 50 km south of the Lake of the Woods . From there it flows a short distance to the west. It flows through Mulligan Lake and the small Hayes Lake reservoir in Hayes Lake State Park . He then turns to the northwest and crosses Beltrami , Lake of the Woods , Roseau and Kittson Counties . The small town of Roseau is on the riverbank. The Roseau River crosses the border into Manitoba. It passes the places Roseau River and Dominion City and finally flows into the Red River of the North not far from Letellier . The Roseau River has a length of 344 km. At Dominion City it has an average discharge of 10 m³ / s. Its catchment area covers about 5630 km².
