The Rosenaue is a 11.4 km long orographic left tributary of the Ahse in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It flows in the Soest Börde through the municipalities of Bad Sassendorf and Lippetal .

The Rosenaue rises on the southern outskirts of Bad Sassendorf at 95  m above sea level. NN , only about 1.3 km southwest of the Ahsequelle. After only about 500 m of the river flows into the Haulenbach on the left. Contrary to the German basic map, this 4.6 km long river course is named as a source river by the state survey office of North Rhine-Westphalia .

From Bad Sassendorf the Rosenaue initially flows in a northerly direction. Between Weslarn and Brockhausen , it passes the Rosenaue nature reserve and turns its course to the west. Below Brockhausen, the Rosenaue flows almost parallel to the Ahse and flows south of Oestinghausen at an altitude of 71  m above sea level. NN in this.

On its 11.4 km long path, the Rosenaue overcomes a height difference of 24 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 2.1 ‰. It drains an area of ​​27.714 km².

In the locations of Bad Sassendorf and Weslarn, the course of the river has been heavily straightened. In Weslarn it flows through the Schlothmann mill.

Bach without a special source, comes from the area southeast of Hüttinghausen, used to feed the system of gullies around Haus Hüttinghausen and flows in a northerly direction until it flows into Rosenau at Auf den Espen.

  • Flood of the Rosenau - 1.2 km long, left tributary at Lütgenbrockhausen at 72  m above sea level. NN : Around 1929 the flood around the Rosenau, which was supposed to supply the Borne and the grazing cattle in front of Lütgenbrockhausen with water, was created or expanded. The flood leads from a weir in Brockhausen underground to the village pond “Dorfbörne” (former cattle trough). From there the flood at Lütgenbrockhausen leads back into the Rosenaue.
