The Rose Danio or Rose Pearl Danio ( Danio roseus ) is a small carp fish , of the northern basin Mekong , northern Thailand (provinces Nong Khai and Chiang Rai ), in the northern Lao and northern Myanmar in tributaries of Chindwin occurs.
features
The rose harlequin has an elongated but not quite as slender body as the other species of the genus and reaches a maximum length of 4.7 cm. From all other Danio TYPES it can be distinguished by the following features in combination: a pair of long Barteln and the absence of horizontal stripes on the sides of the body. The Rose Danio resembles in particular the Pearl Danio ( Danio albolineatus ), the two dark horizontal stripes on the rear sides of the body and has longer has Barteln. In the Schillerbärbling they reach to the back of the eyes, but not in the rose harlequin. On the sides of the body, the rose harlequin has 28 vertical rows of scales, the Schillerbärbling 29 to 30.
Pink-colored stripes can be seen in the pelvic fins and in the anal fin. The upper and lower edges of the caudal fin are white. The sideline is incomplete and extends over nine to ten scales. A lateral outgrowth above the eyes is missing.
- Fin formula : dorsal iii / 7, anal ii-iiii / 13.
habitat
The rose harlequin is found in relatively cold, oxygen-rich, fast-flowing streams and small rivers in rainforests, and can often be found near waterfalls and rapids. There is also a single evidence from the Mekong itself.
