The Große Rosennock is at 2440 m above sea level. A. the second highest mountain in the Nock Mountains , part of the Gurktal Alps in Carinthia . It is located in the southern part of the Salzburg Lungau and Carinthian Nockberge biosphere reserve .
The mountain is - typical for the Nockberge - a grassy knoll, which only slopes to the north in a notch to the Kleiner Rosennock ( 2361 m above sea level ).
