Roskilde Domsogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in the town of Roskilde on the island of Sjælland in southern Denmark . Until 1970 she belonged to Harde Sømme Herred in what was then Københavns Amt (until 1808: Roskilde Amt ), then to Roskilde Municipality in the “new” Roskilde Amt , which became part of the “new” Roskilde Municipality in the course of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 Region Sjælland has risen.
Of the 51,262 inhabitants of Roskilde, 19,468 live in the parish of Roskilde Domsogn (as of January 1, 2020).
In the parish are the churches of Roskilde Domkirke , "Gammel Vor Frue Kirke" ( German : Old Church of Our Lady ), also the "Hellig Kors kirkesal" and ruins of the abandoned "Sankt Laurentii Kirke".
Neighboring municipalities are Svogerslev Sogn in the west, Sankt Jørgensbjerg Sogn and Himmelev Sogn in the north and Vindinge Sogn , Roskilde Søndre Sogn and Vor Frue Sogn in the south , as well as in the eastern Høje-Taastrup municipality Fløng Sogn and in the western Lejre municipality Glim Sogn .
