Rossert was a municipality that arose in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse on December 31, 1971 from the voluntary merger of the municipalities of Ruppertshain and Eppenhain . The Taunus höhe Rossert in the municipality was the inspiration for the name . Since the resulting community did not meet the criteria that were regarded as a guarantee of existence during the regional reform, Rossert was incorporated into the city of Kelkheim on January 1, 1977 .
After the incorporation, the community of Rossert was dissolved and Ruppertshain and Eppenhain became districts of Kelkheim.
