Rossi Schreiber

Rossi Schreiber (* 20th century ) is a German publisher and translator from Munich . She founded the comic book publisher Schreiber & Leser .

Rossi Schreiber is the daughter of a teacher and came into contact with the underground comix during a stay in the United States after graduating from high school in the late 1960s . She studied sociology, psychology and newspaper studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and was then editor at Econ Verlag and editor of the compact knowledge series at Heyne Verlag .

In 1981 she and her husband at the time founded the comic book publisher Schreiber & Reader in the Olympic Village in Munich. Starting with graphic novels by Milo Manara and François Schuiten , a large number of adult comics were added to the program.

She was also active for other publishers, for example as a translator of works by Jean Giraud and Frank Miller .

In 2012 she handed over the publishing work to her son Philipp Schreiber. In that year she was awarded the Max and Moritz Prize for her pioneering work as a comic book publisher.
