Rostock marathon
The Rostock Marathon (official name hella marathon night rostock ) is a marathon and half marathon in Rostock , which has been organized by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Athletics Association since 2002 and carried out by the Baltic Night Fever Marathon eV (in the first year only as a half marathon).

The run marks the start of the Hanse Sail and accordingly takes place on the last Saturday in July or the first Saturday in August. In addition to the two races, a half marathon for inline skaters and hand bikers and various relay competitions are offered.
The start and finish of the route are on the Neuer Markt. After an initial loop over Lange Straße, it goes over the Western Pomerania Bridge to Dierkow and from there via Toitenwinkel and Krummendorf to the Warnow Tunnel . After crossing it, it goes on a loop through Schmarl , in the other direction through the Warnow tunnel and via an alternative route back to the city center with a last loop along the Unterwarnow . The half marathon starts in Schmarl and is largely identical to the second half of the marathon route.
The Rostock Marathon 2008 was canceled by the organizer. The runners did not get their entry fee back, but they were able to take part in the 2009 marathon free of charge, which took place as usual.
This marathon was last held on August 4, 2018.
