history

In the 13th century, the Junkers and landowners of Moltke are said to have owned the village. In addition to agriculture, an important line of business was Warnow fishing, which repeatedly led to conflicts with the city of Rostock, which the Warnow claimed for itself. The incorporation to Rostock took place on July 1, 1950.

economy

In addition to the railroad with a freight station and depot, there are only a few small businesses. The Rostock seaport as a logistics and industrial area is not part of the Krummendorf area, but its expansion plans keep causing controversy. Otherwise the district has a village character with agricultural areas, allotment gardens and small wooded areas such as the Oldendorf firs.

traffic

Krummendorf can be reached via the Bundesautobahn 19, junction Rostock-Überseehafen. The former Schmarl -Oldendorf car ferry service was discontinued when the Warnow Tunnel went into operation.
