Hinrichsdorf is a district of Rostock and belongs to the Rostock-Ost district.

location

Hinrichsdorf consists of the old town of Hinrichsdorf and Neu-Hinrichsdorf, 1.5 km away. A large part of the area of the district is occupied by commercial areas . In the west, the “Swienskuhlen” forest belonging to Hinrichsdorf is joined by the Rostock power station . The northern border is the Peez tank farm and the Nienhagen industrial park. Goorstorf , which does not belong to Rostock, connects to the east ; the southern border is the motorway with the district of Dierkow behind it .

size

With 3.5 km² and only a good 200 inhabitants, the district for Rostock is populated far below average. The height is between 2 m and 5 m above sea level. NHN .

history

As for many places in the Rostock area, there is evidence of an existence as early as the beginning of the 14th century, which is why it can be assumed that it was built in the 13th century. The Danish King Erich VI. Menved awarded the place to the knight Johann Moltke , along with other places in this area, including Krummendorf and Toitenwinkel . On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Nienhagen was incorporated near Bentwisch. On January 1, 1960, it was incorporated into Rostock. For centuries until well into modern times, agriculture and forestry were the only dominant features and the village character of Hinrichsdorf was retained. At the end of the 20th century, economic development took off by leaps and bounds.

economy

The Rostock seaport opened in 1960 with a rail connection and the 19 motorway make Hinrichsdorf a location for the logistics sector as well as for industrial and commercial operations. In several industrial areas created after 1990, companies in the food industry with a meat and fish processing plant, wholesalers and retailers or waste treatment companies have settled. An industrial company that builds wind turbines is also partly located in the Hinrichsdorf area. The automotive, gastronomy and entertainment industries are represented. Even today there are arable, vegetable and pasture areas and a forest area.

traffic

Hinrichsdorf can be reached via Autobahn 19 , junction Rostock-Nord. Landesstraße 22, which has four lanes in sections, runs through the area. There are good road connections to Dierkow, the commercial areas and industrial sites of Nienhagen, the Rostock seaport and the Peez tank farm.

At the end of the 1930s, the construction of a railway line from Rostock city port via Dierkow to the north had begun. The meager sources indicate Markgrafenheide as the end point. The project was not completed. Hinrichsdorf would have been touched by this railway line.

Hinrichsdorf is integrated into the urban bus network.

Remarkable

  • On the southern edge of Hinrichsdorf there is a historic Erdholländer windmill .
  • The 380 kV line from the Rostock power plant to the Bentwisch switchgear runs parallel to the motorway . The line went into operation at the same time as the power plant on September 20, 1994.
