About this picture
Location of Peez in Rostock

Peez is a district of Rostock .

The district of Peez has little in common with the former small farming village of Peez. Only a few buildings remain from the old village of Peez. Most of the homesteads were demolished when the tank farm was built at the seaport . The village of Peez was incorporated into Rostock on July 1, 1950.

The area of the seaport (opened in 1960) belongs to the district of Peez, to which the former village of Petersdorf had to give way. As a result, the district of Peez is mainly industrial: in addition to the port, the tank farm and a hard coal power station, various companies have settled here, primarily because of the excellent transport connections (port, railroad and federal motorway 19 ).
