Location of Brinckmansdorf in Rostock
|
The Rostock district of Brinckmansdorf was named after the Low German writer John Brinckman , who was born in Rostock in 1814. There are street names such as Knallerballerweg, Kunkeldanweg, Kasper-Ohm-Weg, Unkel-Andrees-Weg or Käppen-Pött-Weg, which were taken from his novels. It is the most southeastern part of Rostock and was founded in 1919. In the same year, the first houses were built here, mostly single or double houses, some as so-called warrior homes for veterans of the First World War . Brinckmansdorf also includes the Am Weißen Kreuz district , named after a former innTo the White Cross , as well as the former suburban villages Riekdahl , Alt Bartelsdorf and Kassebohm . After German reunification, new residential areas began to emerge around Riekdahl and Kassebohm, primarily with single-family houses.
