Location of Hinrichshagen in Rostock

Hinrichshagen is a district of the Hanseatic city of Rostock

The district of Hinrichshagen is dominated by its location directly on the Rostocker Heide . In addition to the former village of Hinrichshagen, which was incorporated into Rostock on December 9, 1924, there are two small populated areas: the Erich-Weinert settlement and the Wallensteinslager . Hinrichshagen was first mentioned in a document in 1731. At that time, a tree keeper supervised the traffic coming from Rostock (carriages etc.) in the direction of Heide. In the north of the district on the Baltic coast at Rosenort is the 490 ha large nature reserve Heiligensee and Hütelmoor with extensive moor and moor grass meadows and a salt reeds complex. Hinrichshagen is close to the Rövershagen – Graal-Müritz railway line .
