The Rote Mulde is the left source brook of the Zwickauer Mulde in the Vogtland in Saxony .

The Rote Mulde rises on the eastern outskirts of Schöneck at 770  m above sea level. NN . The source is in the ponds at the Meilerhütte. The outflowing Rote Mulde runs in a north-easterly direction and flows into the Muldenberg dam after about 3 km . There it unites with the White Mulde to form the Zwickauer Mulde .
