Adam Borzęcki (born May 6, 1978 in Danzig ) is a former German - Polish ice hockey player who played on the position of defender .

Career

Adam Borzęcki comes from the offspring of the Polish ice hockey club Stoczniowiec Gdańsk . In 1994 he played a few games for MODO Hockey in the Swedish junior league, but returned to Poland. The following season he ran in 28 games for Zagłębie Sosnowiec in the first Polish league, the Ekstraklasa . With Olimpia Sosnowiec he played in the 1996/97 season in the East European Hockey League .

From 1997 to 1999 he ran in the Canadian QMJHL for the L'Océanic de Rimouski , who had selected him in the 1997 CHL Import Draft in the first round, and was in the 1999/2000 season in the East Coast Hockey League with the Jackson Bandits under contract. The following season he completed 29 games for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League , 28 games for the Idaho Steelheads in the WCHL , and nine games each for the Chicago Wolves and Utah Grizzlies in the IHL . From 2001 to 2003 he played mostly for the Syracuse Crunch, but also made eight appearances for the Elmira Jackals in the UHL .

The defender spent the 2003/04 season in Sweden at Hammarby IF in HockeyAllsvenskan , but moved back to North America for the following season , where he played for the Reading Royals in the ECHL , but also in a total of seven AHL games for the Hershey Bears and Manchester Monarchs graduated.

From 2005 to 2009 Borzęcki laced the skates for Tölzer Löwen in the 2. Bundesliga and Oberliga before 2009 to the Schwenninger Wild Wings moved to the 2. Bundesliga. He has had German citizenship since January 11, 2012, so that he no longer burdened the quota of foreigners. For the 2014/15 season , the left-handed player moved to the DEL2 to the Bietigheim Steelers , as their team captain he was until 2018.

International

For Poland , Borzęcki participated in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championship in 1994 , the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1995 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1995 and 1998 , when he was elected to the All-Star team, and participated in the 1997 U20 Junior World Championship .
