The Rothbroicher Bach is an almost one and a half kilometers long left and southern tributary of the Dhünn . When it is dry, the Rothbroicher Bach does not carry any water and is only recognizable as a ditch above ground.

The Rothbroicher Bach rises at an altitude of about 91  m above sea level. NHN near the Rothbroich district of the Bergisch Gladbach district of Schildgen .

It initially flows north through a green area . When it reaches the outskirts of Rothbroich, it disappears underground. He crosses pipes under the L 101 ( Altenberger-Dom-Straße ). There the Mühlgraben Hoverhof flows towards him. At the northern edge of Rothbroich the brook comes to the surface again. It now flows about 300 meters west on the northern outskirts of Rothbroich.

Then it turns its course towards the north and finally flows out at an altitude of about 66  m above sea level. NHN near Hummelsheim in the Dhünn .

The approximately 1.4 km long course of the Rothbroicher Bach ends about 25 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 18 ‰.

Catchment area

The 81.1 hectare catchment area of ​​the Rothbroicher Bach is located in the Paffrath-Altenrather Heideterrasse and in the lower Dhünntal and is drained through it via the Dhünn, the Wupper and the Rhine to the North Sea.
