Roy Villareal Señeres (born July 6, 1947 in Mambusao , † February 8, 2016 in Taguig City ) was a Filipino politician and diplomat who wanted to run for the Workers 'and Peasants' Party ( Partido ng Manggagawa at Magsasaka ) in the presidential election of his home country in 2016 , however, died about three months before the election.

Señeres spent his childhood and youth in Butuan before earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1967 from the privately run University of Santo Tomas and in 1971 a Bachelor of Laws from the privately run Roman Catholic San Beda College. He subsequently worked as a lawyer and between 1994 and 1998 served as the Philippines' ambassador to the United Arab Emirates , an important destination for Filipino labor migrants .

He withdrew his application for the office of President of the Philippines, announced in 2015, on February 5, 2016, because his protracted diabetes was causing increasingly severe health problems.

A few days after retiring from the election campaign, Señeres suffered cardiac arrest due to diabetes . The father of six died on February 8, 2016 at St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig.
