Rube Bjorkman
Reuben Eugene "Rube" Bjorkman (born February 27, 1929 in Roseau , Minnesota ) is a former American ice hockey player and coach .
Career
Rube Bjorkman attended the University of Minnesota , for whose ice hockey team he played in parallel. He later worked for a long time as an ice hockey coach in college sports. In the 1963/64 season he was in charge of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from ECAC Hockey . From 1965 to 1969 he was the head coach of the University of New Hampshire , which also took part in the game operations of ECAC Hockey. Most recently he was in charge of the University of North Dakota from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association from 1970 to 1978 .
International
Bjorkman took part in the Winter Olympics in St. Moritz in 1948 and in Oslo in 1952 for the USA . At the 1948 Winter Games, the USA were subsequently disqualified for the unauthorized use of professional players, and at the 1952 Winter Games, he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad for the 1955 World Cup .
