Rudi Lüttge

Rudolf "Rudi" Lüttge (born December 19, 1922 in Ilsenburg , † September 23, 2016 in Bad Schwartau ) was a German walker and Olympic participant .

career

Lüttge won a total of 16 German championship titles in his career, eleven of them in individual competitions and five in the team. From 1938 to 1941 he started for BSG Büssing Braunschweig, from 1941 he was a member of Eintracht Braunschweig .

Lüttge took for Germany at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki in the 50-km walk in part, where he finished 13th. In 1948, Rudi Lüttge set in the Braunschweig Eintracht Stadium with a time of 2: 27: 26.6 h. set a world record in 30 km walking. However, this record was never officially recognized by the IAAF , as the German Athletics Association had not yet been accepted as a member again after the Second World War .

In 1988 Lüttge was awarded the Lower Saxony Sports Medal.
