Rudi Margreiter

Rudi Margreiter (born March 20, 1954 as Rudolf Josef Margreiter in Niederau , Wildschönau , Tyrol ; † April 27, 2005 in Ottikon , Illnau-Effretikon ) was a Swiss pop singer, producer, guitar and trumpet player .

Life

Margreiter was active in the folk music scene from his youth. He celebrated his first successes (including Mrs. Meier ) as a singer and leader of the Original Alpenland Quintet . In 1987 he married Verena Bieri. A year later he left the Alpenland quintet and founded the duo Vreni and Rudi with his wife , which became the most famous Swiss folk music duo .

Due to financial problems, the couple gave up their leased inn "Hopp de Bäse!" in Illnau . In April 2005 Margreiter had to sell his music publisher mounty music. Shortly afterwards he committed suicide. His grave is in the Oberillnau cemetery .

Margreiter was u. a. Producer for his future wife Vreni , for Vanessa Grand , Nico Sanders , Géraldine Olivier and Francine Jordi and successful in the Grand Prix of Folk Music .
