Rudolf André

Rudolf André , also Rudolph André , (born January 16, 1792 in Gotha , † January 12, 1825 in Tischnowitz ) was a German farmer .

Life

Rudolf André was born as the son of the farmer and educator Christian Karl André and the brother of the forester Emil André . At the age of 17 he started farming in Moravia , which he later continued in Bohemia . From 1814 he worked for Prince Salm-Reifferscheidt and in 1820 became economic director for Rainz and Blansko . He held this office for four years, then, in 1825, he began to administer the Tischnowitz and Staaz estates . He died in January of this year at the age of 32.

Like his brother, Rudolf André dealt with sheep breeding and gained importance through its systematization, which made it possible to achieve constant results in the breeding of new breeds. He was the first agricultural author to thoroughly and completely describe the methods of raising sheep.
