Rudolf Bergermann

Rudolf Bergermann (born September 24, 1941 in Düsseldorf ) is a German engineer and structural planner.

Life

From 1961 to 1966 Bergermann studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart . After a short stint at the Stuttgart construction company Ed. Züblin AG , he worked as an engineer at Leonhardt and Andrä from 1968 to 1973 , and from 1974 became chief engineer with Jörg Schlaich .

Together with Jörg Schlaich, he founded the engineering office Schlaich Bergermann und Partner (SBP) in 1980, based in Stuttgart, Berlin and New York.

Rudolf Bergermann is a globally recognized specialist in unconventional engineering structures . He is known, among other things, for filigree lightweight construction solutions for pedestrian bridges, high steel towers and elaborate cable network constructions, with which he broke new architectural territory, such as the Gottlieb Daimler Stadium in Stuttgart and the Ting Kau Bridge in Hong Kong.

Rudolf Begermann has been a member of the Catholic student union AV Alania Stuttgart in the CV since 1961 .

Together with Jörg Schlaich, Bergermann handed over his work archive to the Berlin Academy of the Arts .
