Rudolf Borchert

Rudolf Borchert (born January 4, 1952 in Waren (Müritz) ; † November 13, 2019 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the state parliament in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life and work

Borchert graduated from school in 1971 with the Abitur and in the same year until 1976 he studied teaching at the Humboldt University in Berlin , graduating as a qualified teacher for geography and history . From 1976 to 1989 he worked as a teacher and from 1989 to 1990 as a trainer in his hometown. From 1990 to 1993 he was head of office and there was one year of unemployment before he took over the office of managing director of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz Workers' Welfare Association .

Within the SPD, he was on the board of the SPD district association Müritz. As a local politician , he was a member of the Müritz district council .

From 1998 to 2016 he was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . In the state elections in 2011 , he was directly elected to the state parliament in the Müritz I state constituency. He was chairman of the committee for energy, infrastructure and regional development. He did not run for the election in September 2016 .
