research

His research areas include German poetry from the early baroque to the pre- March period and historical metaphorology , the history of material and motifs. The interdisciplinary nature of literature represents an essential aspect: He dealt with the interrelationships between poetics and rhetoric , poetry and music , and the history of culture and technology ; He pursues the latter with the phenomena of transport and nuclear energy, but above all with literary figurations of artificial humans, their technical models and their contemporary, social and cultural-historical discourses. A research project lasting several years resulted from this subject area, which was reflected in a number of publications (e.g. the anthology Menschen aus Menschenhand, 1988, and the anthologies The Creatures of Prometheus , 1994, and The Frankenstein Complex , 1999).

In further studies he devoted himself to self-reflection in the arts in the context of modernity using the example of literary comedy , satire and poetological poetry , the poet Winterreise from Goethe to Grass , diversity and change in the meanings and modes of representation of the Prometheus myth from antiquity to The present as well as the systematics and development of casual poetry with a focus on 'Silesia as a cultural landscape of the early modern era in the mirror of casual poetry'.
