Rudolf Fischer (chemist)
Rudolf Fischer (born January 27, 1881 in Berlin ; † March 21, 1957 there ) was a German chemist and entrepreneur .
Life
Rudolf Fischer was born on January 27, 1881 as the son of the high school teacher Friedrich Fischer (1844-1889) and Marie (1844-1927), née Haagen, in Berlin. He studied chemistry at the Universities of Strasbourg and Berlin , where he received his doctorate in 1903 , and in 1906 he joined the Neue Photographische Gesellschaft in Steglitz . After the end of the First World War , in which he had participated as a soldier, he switched to the Schering company . In 1927 Fischer founded his own company " Technophot ", which produced photo paper , document and recording paper.
Rudolf Fischer, who married the daughter of Max Ruge , Gertrud ( teacher ), in 1922 , died on March 21, 1957 at the age of 76 in Berlin.
Act
Rudolf Fischer's merits were in the field of color photography . The variant dating back to the 19th century , based on the principle of three-color mixing, attempts to achieve a negative by placing three color formers within a photographic layer , from which any number of positives could be taken , did not lead to the desired success. In 1912 and 1913, Fischer applied for patents based on the idea of distributing the color formers corresponding to the three basic colors over three selectively sensitive halogen silver layers and applying these on top of one another with the interposition of filter and separating layers. While his suggestions were not crowned with success because of the inadequate emulsion technology at the time of filing, the color processes that later became established were based on his basic knowledge.
