Rudolf Franz (politician)

Rudolf Franz (born August 23, 1934 in Berlin ; † October 6, 1998 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Franz put 1954 down its Abitur and studied at the Free University of Berlin medicine . In 1960 he received his doctorate and worked at several hospitals in Berlin. After completing his specialist training in 1968, he settled as a specialist in internal medicine in Berlin-Mariendorf .

In 1972 Franz joined the CDU. In the Berlin election in 1979 , he was elected to the district assembly of the former Tempelhof district. In the 1985 election he was able to win the direct mandate in the Berlin House of Representatives for the constituency of Tempelhof 7 and later for the constituency of Tempelhof 5.

Already seriously ill, Franz left parliament in January 1998, and Rainer Welz was his successor .

Rudolf Franz last lived in Berlin-Lichtenrade and was a member of the board of the local CDU branch. His political companions included the former Tempelhof district mayor Wolfgang Krueger .

Rudolf Franz died in October 1998 of complications from cancer.
