Rudolf Göhmann

Rudolf Göhmann (born April 16, 1921 ; † March 14, 2014 ) was a German lawyer and notary . and namesake of the internationally positioned commercial law firm Göhmann .

Life

Born in 1921 in the early days of the Weimar Republic , Rudolf Göhmann experienced the times of National Socialism and World War II as a child and finally as a young man , before studying law at the Faculty of Law and Political Science in 1947 while still in the British occupation zone at the University of Göttingen with a typewritten dissertation on the subject of the violations of the oath in the regional court district of Göttingen in the years 1920-1942 .

Shortly after the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1949, Göhmann joined the law firm of Paul Heesen, which was originally founded in Hanover in 1925, in the Lower Saxony state capital, which was largely destroyed by the previous air raids on Hanover .

In 1957 Göhmann was elected to the board of directors of the Hannover Lawyers and Notaries Association , where he served as chairman of the board from 1973 to 1977, at the same time from 1965 to 1973 on the board of the German bar association , before becoming chairman of the Lower Saxony lawyer from 1976 to 1980 - and notarial association operated.

The lawyer and notary, who is characterized by Christian values and also volunteers outside of legal interest representation , was also a member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover from 1962 to 1988 .

Rudolf Göhmann was a member of the Lower Saxony State Court for a decade and a half from 1977 to 1993 . He had already been honored with the Order of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1974 and was also awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1980.

The German legal profession recognized Rudolf Göhmann in 1981 with the award of the badge of honor .
