Rudolf-Günter Wagner
Rudolf-Günter Wagner , also Rudolf Günter Wagner and Rudolf Günther Wagner (born August 13, 1912 in Purulia near Calcutta , India ; † August 24, 1980 ), was a German stage, film and television actor as well as radio announcer and radio presenter.
Live and act
Born in the far east of India, Wagner attended the drama school of the Deutsches Theater in 1931/32 and then began to play theater in the German provinces (Stralsund, Greifswald, Neisse, Gera, Saarbrücken). Most recently (1943/44 season) there were also commitments at Potsdam and Berlin venues (fairytale theater “Kraft durch Freude”). At a young age he was seen as Brackenburg in Goethe's Egmont , as Schiller's Don Karlos , as Mortimer in Schiller's Maria Stuart , as Fritz in Schnitzler's Liebelei , as Montgomery in Schiller's Die Jungfrau von Orleans and as Puck in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream .
From the beginning of the 1940s, the film gained importance in Wagner's artistic vitae, and he played several mostly tiny roles during the Second World War. In the early post-war period he switched to radio, which now gained great importance in his work. For many years, Rudolf Günter Wagner was chief spokesman for the SFB for which he and Nikola Greiff also moderated the Berlin part of the ARD night program ( music until the early morning ). From 1948 to 1952 he was also chairman of the Rundfunkunion Berlin. He also spoke the voiceover in the cinema newsreel. Only in later years did the beefy, stocky actor return to the camera and take part in one or the other television production as a guest. He also dubbed a number of films. There Wagner was at times the German voice of Clark Gable .
Wagner, who was married to a former dancer, had a son and a daughter.
