Rudolf Hartmann

Rudolf Hartmann (born March 20, 1856 in Brüssow , Prenzlau district , † between 1922 and 1935) was a German politician of the DNVP .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Stettin , Hartmann, who was a Protestant, studied mathematics and natural sciences in Göttingen and Berlin from 1876 to 1879 and then medicine in Berlin. In 1883 he received his doctorate in medicine. He practiced as a spa doctor in Berg Dievenow and was later an assistant doctor in the Knappschaftslazarett Königshütte . After stations in other miners' hospitals, including as chief physician in Zabrze , after the death of Wilhelm Wagner in 1900 he became chief physician of the miner's hospital in Königshütte. He was a member of the board of the Medical Association of the Province of Silesia .

Political party

Hartmann belonged to the National Liberal Party in the German Empire . In contrast to the majority of his party friends, he did not participate in the founding of the DVP in 1918 , but went to the DNVP .

MP

From 1893 to 1900 Hartmann was a district committee member in the Zabrze district . Since 1903 he belonged to the district council of Beuthen-Land . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . He was then a member of the Reichstag until November 1922 . In the National Assembly on April 11, 1919 - in contrast to many other MPs - he spoke out in favor of the government's bill to maintain summer time for health reasons , but was unable to prevail against a cross-party majority of MPs.
