Rudolf Henseler

Rudolf Henseler CSsR (born July 22, 1949 in Bonn ) is a German religious priest and Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from the Collegium Josephinum Bonn in 1969, he joined the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in the same year. He made the first profession in 1970 and the perpetual profession in 1974. He was ordained diaconate and priest in 1975. After studying philosophy and theology from 1970 to 1976 at the Redemptorist University of Philosophy (PTH) in Geistingen , he studied canon law at the canonical institute of the LMU Munich from 1976 to 1979 , where he received his licentiate in 1978 and earned his doctorate in 1979. In 1980 he was appointed associate professor at the PTH Geistingen. After the recognition of the equivalence of all publications with a habilitation in accordance with the then version of § 49 of the North Rhine-Westphalia University Act and the simultaneous granting of the nihil obstat from Rome , he was appointed full professor at the PTH Geistingen in 1982.

Since 1980 he has held the chair for canon law at the Redemptorist College in Hennef (until teaching was discontinued in 1996), and from 1980 lectures at the PTH of the Steyler Missionaries in Sankt Augustin , which formed a university community with the Redemptorist College from 1969 to 1996 would have. He then held the chair for canon law there. From 1992 to 2012, he was also assigned a permanent teaching position for the subject of religious law at the University of Münster , as part of the licentiate degree in canon law there. He also held teaching positions at the Trier Theological Faculty (1996/1997), the St. Lambert Study House (1998/1999), the Diakoneninstitut Köln (2008/2009) and gave two guest lectures at the Catholic University of Lublin and one guest lecture at the Phil. -Theol. University in Tuchów .

From 1981 to 2006 he was a diocesan judge at the Archbishop's Office in Cologne . In 1995 Pope John Paul II appointed him Consultor of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life for a quinquennium . From 2007 to 2014 he was a clerk for the Archdiocese of Cologne .

He is a member of the Consociatio Internationalis Studio Iuris Canonici Promovendo and the Working Group on Canon Law . His research focus is religious law.
