Rudolf Hirsch (born February 1, 1816 in Napajedl , Moravia ; † March 10, 1872 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist and editor , but also a poet and composer.

Life

Hirsch studied at the universities of Brno and Vienna , the law and went in 1840 to Leipzig , where he sang as a writer of songs that he also set to music and has an elegant presentation, made popular and by 1843 the comet edited.

When he returned to Vienna, he took the state examination and then held various positions until he was appointed librarian at the Ministry of Police in 1852 .

As a poet , Hirsch published several collections of poetry. Hirsch is to be regarded as a straggler of the Swabian school , who later, however, significantly impaired his effect through poetry for the gendarmerie and militarism. A selection of his poetic writings appeared in 2 volumes (Vienna 1851).
