Rudolf Kunz (Major)

Rudolf Kunz (born November 28, 1856 in Regensberg , † December 1, 1930 in Lugano ) was a Swiss officer .

Life

Rudolf Kunz was the son of the legal agent and innkeeper of the same name and Dorothea née Krauer. He studied architecture at the ETH Zurich and the Technical University of Stuttgart , where he became a member of the Corps Rhenania . After graduating, he joined the Swiss Army . In 1884 he was appointed instruction officer. In 1905 he was promoted to colonel and appointed artillery chief of the 3rd Army Corps . In 1913 he was appointed chief of weapons in the artillery . With the outbreak of the First World War he was promoted to division general and at the same time appointed artillery chief of the army. After the end of the war he was still chief of weapons in the artillery. He retired from this position in 1919. He was married to Margaretha Speich.
