Rudolf Mackowitz

Rudolf Mackowitz (born October 13, 1915 in Vienna , † November 24, 1959 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian journalist and politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) who was a member of the National Council for one legislative period .

Life

After attending elementary school and secondary school, Mackowitz studied at the University of Vienna and the University of Innsbruck and then worked as an editor for the weekly newspaper Die Wochenpost in Innsbruck, before he later became editor of the weekly newspaper Der Volksbote . As a journalist, along with Anton Klotz from the Tiroler Tageszeitung, he was considered a supporter of the Habsburg monarchy , which was made clear by articles about weddings of members of the House of Habsburg or the publication of speeches by Otto von Habsburg .

In addition to his journalistic activities, he was also involved as a board member of the Tyrol Regional Section of the Journalists Section in the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (ÖGB).

In the National Council election on February 22, 1953 , Mackowitz was elected as a member of the National Council in constituency 18-Tirol and, after being sworn in on March 18, 1953, belonged to it during the VII legislative period until June 8, 1956. During his membership in parliament he was secretary and substitute member of the committees for the Court of Auditors, for social administration, for education and for customs.
