Rudolf Pressberger
Rudolf Pressberger (born December 3, 1942 in Vienna; † August 11, 2001 in St. Veit in Defereggen ) was an Austrian mechanical engineer and astronomer. He worked at the Vienna University Observatory and built the Purgathofer Observatory in Klosterneuburg-Kierling.
Life
He was born as the third child of the technical employee Hans Pressberger after his two older sisters Leni and Traude. After primary and secondary school, he attended the higher technical institute in Vienna, completed a degree in mechanical engineering and, after three years of practical experience, received the professional title of engineer.
From 1964 to 1972 he worked in the design office of the fittings company Hübner-Vamag in Vienna. In 1972 he joined the Austrian federal service as a technical employee at the Institute for Astronomy at the University of Vienna . In 1984 he was entrusted with the technical management of the Leopold Figl Observatory .
