Rudolf Ritter (District Administrator)

Rudolf Ritter (born March 22, 1905 in Lahr ; † June 18, 1994 in Ettenheim ) was a German politician , mayor and district administrator .

Life

Born as the son of a businessman, Ritter studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau , Geneva and Heidelberg after attending the Lahr Humanistic High School . While he was a member of the Pennal Association Alemannia Lahr when he was at school , he became a member of the Freiburg fraternity of Teutonia during his studies in 1924 . After graduating in 1929 and graduating as Dr. iur. and second exam in 1932, he became a lawyer . In 1933 he became a member of the NSDAP and in 1934 joined the Baden interior administration. In 1936 he became a government councilor in Kehl , then in Freiburg and in 1940 provisional district administrator in the Altkirch district . In 1942/43 he went to the regional council of Aurich and was in the war in Norway from May 1943 .

After he was released from French captivity in 1946 , he was denied work as a lawyer and in the Baden interior administration because he had been a "functionary in the National Socialist state". He worked as a legal assistant until 1949 when he was again admitted to the bar. From 1953 he was a member of the Lahr city ​​council , where he was first mayor from 1955 to 1970 . For a long time he was a district councilor and mayor of the FDP .

From 1972 to 1993 he was editor of the Geroldsecker Land yearbook .
