Rudolf Schindler (musician)

Rudolf Schindler (born March 18, 1923 in Regensburg ; † February 14, 2010 there ) was a German choir director and music teacher .

Life

Schindler studied musicology in Regensburg from 1947 to 1949 and then until 1953 school music at the Munich Conservatory .

He then taught at the German Gymnasium in Straubing . In 1957 he was appointed to the Institute for Teacher Training in Regensburg, which was called the Regensburg University of Education from 1958 until it was incorporated into the University of Regensburg in 1972 . There he founded the university choir in 1957 , which became the University Choir of Regensburg with its incorporation into the University of Regensburg . Schindler directed the university choir until 1983. He also founded and directed the Regensburg Choir Circle from 1957 and the associated instrumental ensemble in 1974.

In 1983 the church music director and choir teacher Christian Kroll took over the leadership of the university choir .
