Rudolf Tremmel

Rudolf Tremmel (born February 14, 1905 in Neunkirchen , Lower Austria , † February 16, 1971 in Bruck an der Mur , Styria ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Rudolf Tremmel learned the trade of toolmaker after attending the elementary and community school . He later acquired an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at the commercial school . As a young man, Tremmel came from Lower Austria to Styria, where he found work in Kapfenberg for the Böhler-Uddeholm company . Here he rose to the board of bookkeeping and accounting .

Tremmel was interned in the Wöllersdorf detention center for eight months in 1934 for his commitment to social democracy , which was banned in Austria .

After the Second World War , Tremmel was first elected to the Kapfenberg municipal council. He was not only chairman of the SPÖ party in Kapfenberg, but also rose to become deputy chairman of the party in the Bruck an der Mur district .

In November 1949 Tremmel was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council. He was a member of the provincial chamber in Vienna until March 1953.
