Rudolf Heinrich Karl von Glan (born September 7, 1725 in Esens , † June 29, 1807 in Stickhausen ) was a German administrative lawyer and bailiff in East Frisia .

His parents were Christian Albrecht Carl von Glan (* March 18, 1691; † January 7, 1771) from Tönning and his wife Ette Catharina Bonenkamp (* January 1, 1692; † December 30, 1729).

Life

Rudolf von Glan studied law and entered the Prussian civil service in 1760. He became bailiff of Stickhausen and state rentmaster. In 1765 he co-hosted with other interested parties for a grant from Frederick the Great to transfer ownership of the Overledingerland lying moor for application of Fehnkolonien . In 1769 the royal government in Berlin granted the concession to build the Rhauderfehn colonies. He married Henriette Luise von Wolframsdorf on August 25, 1757 († February 2, 1824). The couple had 4 sons and 2 daughters. The son Anton Günter Carl von Glan was mayor of the city of Norden from 1791 to 1815 .
