Friends of Nature House on the occasion of the Dalai Lama's 80th birthday

The Zigeunermühle is a district of the city of Weißenstadt in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

The Zigeunermühle is at a junction of the district road WUN 1 between Weißenstadt and Kleinschloppen . It can also be reached via the district road WUN 3 between Weißenstadt and the Waldstein or Sparneck .

The place on the slope of the Lehstenberg was called Lehstenbachmühle until 1970. The name was changed because a group of gypsies was slaughtered and buried at this point . Several legends about gypsies have come down to us from the area. The Lehstenbach flows through the place. The eponymous building, the mill, was a summer resort and restaurant from 1929 and is now a residential building. The small town is known for the Friends of Nature House, which was built in 1923 by the Münchberger Friends of Nature, and a forest home. There was a ski jumping hill of the Weißenstadt winter sports club, which also held competitions there. The ski jump has now been dismantled.
