Former stable house

Hühnerhöfen is a district of Weißenstadt in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel . In the course of its history it was deserted at times , the remaining building is uninhabited.

Chicken farms located north of State Road 2180 in the amount Torfmoorhölle between Voitsumra and Kornbach . It is located within the Waldstein massif on the southern slope of the Bärenhöhe. The place was first mentioned in documents in 1497 and is described in the land register of the six offices from 1499 with two half yards. Since the place was on an old military and trade route between Franconia and Bohemia, which led over the Höllpass , it was probably created much earlier. Hühnerhöfen owned extensive land and had the right to hat , Rudolf Thiem assumes that a village with several buildings already existed at this point before the chicken farms were first mentioned. There are several place names of disappeared villages that come into question and have not yet been localized. Similar to the neighboring villages, the residents either had to flee or perished during the Thirty Years' War ; the settlement became a desert. In 1655 it was rebuilt. Several buildings are drawn in the maps of the first photo, and the names of the fields are references to the cleared island. The owners of the estate are known up to the 20th century, most recently as servants of the state forest. Owners were also the related aristocratic families Metzsch and Laineck , beginning in 1708 with Heinrich Lorenz Metsch, councilor and chief magistrate of Stockenroth . The relatively large area around the settlement has been reforested for some time. Open spaces in front of the house that are still used for agriculture indicate portions of the cleared area. Hühnerhöfen has been uninhabited since 1974. On the Torfmoorhölle - Saalequelle stage , the Quellenweg leads past the existing farmhouse, a stable house with a fountain .
