Rudolph Friedrich von Wichmannshausen

Rudolph Friedrich von Wichmannshausen (born October 9, 1711 in Dresden , † March 30, 1792 in Delitzsch ) was a German theologian and philosopher .

Life

Born in Dresden in 1711, von Wichmannshausen was the younger brother of Johann Georg von Wichmannshausen . He studied in Wittenberg from 1729 to 1733 . In 1733 he joined the Sophian College of Preachers founded by Moritz Carl Christian Woog (1684–1760) in Dresden. He finished his studies with a master's degree in philosophy and a doctorate in theology . From 1738 to 1739 von Wichmannshausen worked as a senior pastor in Ortrand . He then worked in Liebenwerda as superintendent until 1753 . Other places of activity were Freyburg (1753–60) and Delitzsch (1761–92), where he also died.
