The Ruederche is a 10.7 kilometer long stream that flows through the Aargau Ruedertal . It rises in the Schiltwald and flows into the Suhre in Schöftland . The Ruederche only flows through the three political communities Schmiedrued , Schlossrued and Schöftland.
course
The Ruederche is created by the confluence of the Schulbach and Biberbächli at Winkel above Schmiedrued . The Schulbach rises in an extraordinarily ramified system of springs and source streams that run through the entire Schiltwald. Together with the side brooks Änzigraben, Gygerbächli bei Walde, Lorentobel, Steinigbach and Bach von Hasel, the upper part of the Ruederche in particular is of great value for nature, as such natural, complex brook systems are rare in southern Aargau. On the other hand, the two narrow spaces in Walde and Schlossrued are particularly problematic for the amphibian populations. Since these animals can only overcome the constrictions with difficulty, the habitats are only weakly networked.
history
The Ruederche had burst its banks several times in the past, the last time on August 8, 2007, when it flooded numerous cellars and underground garages in Schlossrued and Schöftland. For this reason, renaturation has been sought for several years . The most recent renaturation measures were completed in autumn 2009. More are planned.
