The ruin Arnegg , also called Arneneck , is the ruin of a spur castle , which is located above Arnegg , a district of the town of Blaustein in the Alb-Danube district in Baden-Württemberg on a wooded 559.1 m above sea level. NN spur tip is located.
history
The hilltop castle , presumably built by the local nobility, the Lords of Arnegg, in the 13th century is first mentioned indirectly in 1265 with the monk Hugo von Arnegg . In 1378 the castle was destroyed in the city war of Ulm, rebuilt in the 15th century as the seat of the Arnegg rule and largely demolished from 1808 onwards. The Counts of Dillingen and Württemberg are named as other owners .
Remains of a large curtain wall are still present from the former castle complex, and a visible rock remnant is assumed to be the location of the core castle . Newly acquired buildings on the 120 by 70 meter castle area are privately owned and inhabited.
