Otterswang ruins

The ruin Otterswang is the ruin of a spur castle at 635  m above sea level. NN high mountain spur high above the Schussental 900 meters northwest of the district of Otterswang in the spa town of Bad Schussenried in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle, designed as a castle, was probably built by the Lords of Otterswang in the 11th century, mentioned around 1083 and fell into disrepair in the 19th century. Former owners were the gentlemen of Gundelfingen , the taverns of Winterstetten and the gentlemen of Emerkingen. Parts of the curtain wall , foundations of the tower and the moat are still preserved from the former castle complex. Next to the ruin is the "Burg-Café".
