The Ruiskopf is a 3090 m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Schobergruppe on the border between East Tyrol and Carinthia . The summit was first climbed on September 8, 1910 by A. Langbein and J. Zbiral.
location
The Ruiskopf lies in the west of the Schobergruppe on the border between the communities of Kals am Großglockner (East Tyrol) and Heiligenblut am Großglockner (Carinthia). The Ruiskopf lies between the Böse Weibl ( 3119 m above sea level ) in the north and the Kristallkopf ( 3160 m above sea level ) in the southeast, whereby the Kristallscharte ( 2945 m above sea level ) separates the Ruiskopf from the Kristallkopf. To the west is the Tschadinhorn ( 3119 m above sea level ). Neighboring valleys are the valley of the Ruisbach in the west and the valley of the Tramerbach in the northeast, whereby the Ruisbach drains after a short course into the Lesachbach and the Tramerbach also into the Gössnitzbach . Nearby bases are the Lesachalmhütte in the west and the Elberfelder Hütte in the east.
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the rarely used Ruiskopf leads from the Kristallscharte over the sharp-edged southeast ridge ( II-III ), whereby the Kristallscharte can be reached from the Lesachalmhütte to the west or the Elberfelder Hütte to the east. In the final ascent, the ascent leads at times over the sloping west flank, with an approximately 10 meter high chimney finally having to be overcome.
An alternative route is the route over the north ridge ( III ) from the Tschadinsattel, which can also be reached from the huts mentioned. After the Tschadinsattel, first the Ruisscharte (between the Ruiskopf and the Vorgipfel des Böse Weibl) is climbed and then the north ridge is climbed.
