Rupert Feneberg

Rupert Feneberg (born September 29, 1938 ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian with a focus on religious education .

Feneberg studied Roman Catholic theology . He was a professor of Catholic theology and religious education with a focus on the New Testament at the Weingarten University of Education .

The Judeo-Christian dialogue is an important concern of Feneberg. This is evident in his publications, especially in his book The Election of Israel and the Church of Jesus Christ . In it he takes the opinion that the church that Jesus founded was a completely Gentile Christian one that should exist alongside the synagogue. The Gospel of Matthew was the "founding document" of this new church, written by an anonymous scribe.
